Program was really great. Information was almost there and right on. But that is not the whole story. What about the individuals like myself and my partner who have been working hard for the consumer that have completed over 200 loan modifications for homeowners. I fully understand the non-profit idea and it is great. I would love to have the chance to talk to someone regarding the otherside of this story. We are here in the center of the meltdown in Stockton and have been involved for the last 4 years telling anybody and everybody about what is going on. Nobody talks about the tatics the lenders, servicers and banks are taking with the consumer. I can be reached at (209) 474-1885.
Better yet come down and spend some time to see what is really going on concerning modifications.

Perhaps I’ll call you Steven. I have an unusual situation brought on by divorce. I went through the entire process with GMAC on the Obama plan. I was told I did not qualify for one the programs because my GROSS INCOME WAS TOO HIGH relative to my mortgage second mortgage not included. I did not qualify for another program because my NET INCOME WAS TOO LOW (due to second mortgage, credit card debt, child/spousal support payments) relative to my mortgage. My problem is only temporary, until I don’t have to pay spousal support in about a year. But no help– not even an offer of forbearance.. I got no explanation. Just a letter saying no. After calling a woman told me my they calculated my expenses at over $2000 more a month than they actually are. In order to challenge that I would be required to begin the application process all over again from scratch and prove that they were wrong about my expenses. My credit report proves they are wrong about my expenses but I feel they just don’t want to modify because if I default they are first in line to get paid. They’ll get there money so they don’t care.
